After a diverse career with various artists, Atsumi moved from Tokyo to Kyoto in 2012 to create “New Japanese Music.” Since 2016, he has been leading the project “Hogaku 2.0,” which aims to spread the appeal of traditional Japanese music to the world through a western musical instrument, the guitar. He is also working on the development of “Japanese Guitar,” a music project born out of his research in traditional Japanese music.
